Kendall Park Woman Charged with Stealing from Friends, Township School

Suspect allegedly stole thousands of dollars in jewelry from the homes of friends.

A township woman is facing charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry from friends, in addition to stealing school property from Constable Elementary School, according to police.

Kelly Murolo, 33, of Kendall Park, was charged with three counts of theft after an investigation conducted by South Brunswick Officer Salvatore Fama linked her to three open cases.

Earlier this year in April, Murolo went to the home of a family friend on Aldrich and allegedly asked to go upstairs to look for her son’s missing iPod, police said. After Murolo left the residence, $2,600 in jewelry, including a wedding ring, was reported missing from the master bedroom, according to police.

A few months later in June, Murolo allegedly went to another family friend’s home on Villanova Drive and asked to see how the family painted their son’s upstairs bedroom, according to police. After Murolo left the home, the residents reported $50 in cash had been taken from their daughter’s bedroom and $8,000 in jewelry was missing from the master bedroom, police said.

Officer Fama was able to recover one of the stolen pieces of jewelry at JR Gold Buyers in Metuchen, where a store employee identified Murolo as the woman who had sold the jewelry, according to police.

In June, Murolo also allegedly entered Constable Elementary School after hours and stole school property, police said.
