Run with the Vikings 5K Aids SBHS Athletics

Annual race raised money for South Brunswick High School Viking Athletic Club.

On Dec. 2, 2012 over 200 runners, volunteers, and families participated in the 8th Annual Run with the Vikings 5K at South Brunswick High School in Monmouth Junction presented by the Viking Athletic Club.   The runners were treated to perfect running weather after the race had to be reschuduled due to Hurricane Sandy. Numerous trophies and awards were given out to winners in differrent age categories.  Coming in first in the 5K was Bryan Colhoun of Dayton, N.J. in a time of 17:17. Colhoun was followed closely behind by Scott Sarno of Beach Haven, N.J. in 17:27 and then Jack Medina of Livingston, N.J. in 17:33.  The females were lead by Amy Bernstein of East Windsor, N.J. with a time of 20:15, followed by Angela Lynch of Cranford N.J. in 21…

Run with the Vikings 5K Rescheduled for Dec. 2

On behalf of the Viking Athletic Club of South Brunswick High School, I am happy to announce that the 8th Annual Run with the Vikings 5K has been rescheduled to Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. The race will take place at the high school and be run on the same course as previous years with the start times for all races remaining the same. Online Race registration has been re-opened. There will be a number and packet pickup at Road Runner Sports in North Brunswick on Friday, Nov. 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Number and t-shirt pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. on race day. If for some reason you cannot make the new date and would like to exchange or carry over for 2013, please let me know via email before the race. Letter: Run with the Vikings 5K to be Rescheduled

Viking Athletic Club postponed due to storm damage.

After witnessing the devastation left behind from Hurricane Sandy and carefully evaluating all options, the Viking Athletic Club has made the decision to postpone the 8th Annual Run with the Vikings 5K to a later date. South Brunswick High School is still without power and the local police are currently assisting others with more important matters. We hope to have a date as soon as possible and will work with the school to determine that date. If you are unable to attend the race as a result of the date change you may transfer (give or sell) your race number or carry over your race entry to the 2013 Run with the Vikings 5K scheduled for next year. Run with the Vikings 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

All proceeds benefit the Viking Athletic Club and the Student Athletes and Marching Band of South Brunswick High School.

Come out and run for a good cause in November to support the Viking Athletic Club and the Student Athletes and Marching Band of South Brunswick High School. The annual Run with the Vikings 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will be held Nov. 4, rain or shine.
