Plainsboro Man Pleads Not Guilty to Aggravated Manslaughter Charge
Rohit Maddineni was charged with aggravated manslaughter and drunk driving after a crash on Dey Road, which killed an Edison man.
A 25-year-old Plainsboro man facing aggravated manslaughter charges for a one vehicle crash on Dey Road last weekend pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in Superior Court, according to MyCentralJersey.com. Rohit Maddineni's bail remains set at $300,000 and he has yet to finalize a lawyer, according to the report. Police said Maddineni was out drinking last Saturday with friends, before he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole along Dey Road at around 3:40 a.m. Killed in the accident was Pavan Gottumukala, 25, of Edison, who sitting in the rear of the vehicle. Another reminder that alcohol and driving do not mix. Having seen too many of this type of accident I wish people would smarten up and either have a designated driver or call a cab. Happy birthday, it's a shame that because of the party you will have no more and your friend will probably go to jail. Anybody else who reads this article learn from it.
