Township OEM Issues Weekend Heat Advisory

The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management is warning residents of high temperatures through Memorial Day weekend.

The holiday that signifies the official start of summer is expected to bring scorching temperatures to the area. The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management has issued a heat advisory for Memorial Day weekend. The National Weather Service is expecting a high-pressure system to bring increasingly hot temperatures and humid air to the region from Saturday through Tuesday. A heat index above 100 degrees is possible, according to the NWS. The township OEM warns that since this is expected to be the first excessive heat episode of the season, human body temperature acclimatization could be limited. Residents are reminded that elderly people, the very young, and the medically ill are particularly vulnerable to heat related medical issues…
