SBHS to Retire Sanu's Jersey on Oct. 26

Former South Brunswick High School star and current wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals Mohamed Sanu will have his number 2 jersey retired at halftime of the Vikings game against Sayreville.

South Brunswick High School has never seen a star like Mohamed Sanu walk its hallways, and on Oct. 26, Sanu's jersey number will never be worn again on the football field. SBHS will honor the accomplishments of Sanu by retiring his jersey number 2 on Oct. 26 at halftime of the game against Sayreville.  Sanu was born in New Brunswick on August 22, 1989. T.J. Taylor will stay home to play college football for the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights.

Following in the footsteps of recent South Brunswick High School football stars Mohamed Sanu and Jevon Tyree, current junior Vikings standout T.J. It's a great fit at Rutgers. They've been on him for a while and he's been there unofficially to see a few games over the last few years. Vikings cornerback will play college football right in his backyard.

Just as Rutgers University loses a star football player from South Brunswick, another one just walked through the door. Jevon Tyree, a two-way cornerback/running back for the record-setting South Brunswick High School Vikings, committed Wednesday morning to play college football for the Scarlet Knights. "Obviously we're very proud of Jevon, he's a tremendous young man and we're proud of what he accomplished," said South Brunswick High School football coach Rick Mantz. "He was a huge part of our success, and selfishly for us it's going to be great with him being right down the road we can watch all his games. I have very strong ties to Rutgers having done my graduate and undergraduate work there, and I'm very proud Jevon is going to be a …
