Daughter and Father Indicted in SBHS Hit and Run
Shivangi Patel was indicted on charges of leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, endangering an injured victim, and assault by auto.
A township woman and her father were indicted on Aug. 21 in connection to a hit and run at South Brunswick High School earlier this year. A Middlesex County grand jury returned the indictment charging Shivangi Patel, 19, on charges of leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, endangering an injured victim, and assault by auto. The first two charges are third-degree crimes and assault by auto is a fourth-degree crime. Shivangi's father Rajesh Patel, 51, is charged with hindering the apprehension of his daughter, which is a fourth-degree crime. Patel, a student at Rutgers University, drove to SBHS on the morning of April 13 to conduct classroom observations for her college course work. At about 7:25 a.m., police said …
