SBHS LAX Star Ready for New Challenge

South Brunswick High School senior All American Elle Hvozdovic headed to Elon University as part of school's first lacrosse team.

South Brunswick High School senior lacrosse star Elle Hvozdovic had her choice of any number of top colleges in which to continue her career at the collegiate level. But when it came down to it, the Vikings standout set her sights on a unique challenge in being part of the first lacrosse team to play for Elon University. Hvozdovic signed her National Letter of Intent to Elon in late November, joining a class of freshman who will be expected to bring the program up from its infancy while competing against top level schools. "It's definitely a special experience being part of the first team for any program. No matter what, we'll always be the first," Hvozdovic said. SBHS Girls LAX All American Takes Her Act on the Road

South Brunswick High School girls lacrosse standout Elle Hvozdovic enjoying life as an All-Star.

Sports can be funny for high school players at times. After all, it seems the better you play in your state, the less likely you are to stay in your state. Elle Hvozdovic has already played in California, Virginia, Massachusetts and Florida. This past week, she was also representing her home state in Maryland as part of the Brine All-American Classic, a tournament featuring the best lacrosse players in the country. Hvozdovic caught a bit of a break when it came to being a part of this event, though. "There was a tryout for the team in South Brunswick," Hvozdovic laughed.
