Additional Credit Card Fee Begins in New Jersey
Consumers who use credit cards to pay for purchases may be subject to an additional 4 percent retailer fee under new plan.
New Jersey residents using credit cards to pay for purchases may be digging a bit deeper into their wallets beginning Sunday, according to a report on CBSlocal.com. The report says retailers may start adding an additional fee of up to 4 percent if a credit card is used to pay for a purchase. The cost of using credit cards has already been incorporated into the price structure, much as the cost of rent has been incorporated. Just appending a fee onto existing prices, is simply raising prices. I am, however, greatly in favor of prices being re-set so that there may be a lower cash price.
