Sanu Scores Twice to Continue Touchdown Streak for Bengals

South Brunswick High School and Rutgers alum Mohamed Sanu is a red hot rookie for the Cincinnati Bengals.

South Brunswick's Mohamed Sanu began his NFL career without recording a single reception until the seventh game of the year for the Cincinnati Bengals. But after notching the first touchdown reception of his career two weeks ago against the New York Giants, the floodgates opened and the Rutgers University alum followed that up with a touchdown catch last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. With a two-game scoring streak on the line as the Bengals hosted the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, Sanu not only continued his touchdown streak, but he also doubled up his efforts. Sanu found the end zone twice in a 34-10 Bengals win, as he finished with a career-high five receptions for 29 yards and two touchdowns. Sanu Scores TD Two Straight Weeks for Bengals

After getting off to a slow start in his NFL career, South Brunswick High School and Rutgers University alum Mohamed Sanu has scored a touchdown in two straight games.

Like most rookie wide receivers in the NFL, South Brunswick's Mohamed Sanu took some time to adjust to the pro game.  But in week 11 of the NFL season on Sunday, South Brunswick's favorite son found himself in the starting lineup of the Cincinnati Bengals and soon found the end zone for the second straight week. After an injury kept starting receiver Andrew Hawkins out of the lineup, Sanu started the first game of his pro career and made the most of it. Late in the fourth quarter with the Bengals ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs 21-6, Sanu beat star Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. "If life were represented with arrows on God's spreadsheet, Bengals rookie wide receiver …

Sanu Tosses Touchdown Pass in Bengals Win

South Brunswick High School graduate Mohamed Sanu threw a 73-yard touchdown pass on the opening play of the Cincinnati Bengals 38-31 win over the Washington Redskins.

When the Cincinnati Bengals selected former South Brunswick High School and Rutgers University star wide receiver Mohamed Sanu in the third round of April's NFL Draft, they were hoping for him to continue his prowess catching the football. However, in Sunday's 38-31 Bengals victory over the Washington Redskins, it was Sanu's arm that got the attention. On the first play from scrimmage, the Bengals lined up in the Wildcat formation with Sanu at quarterback and starting QB Andy Dalton at receiver. With a load of experience operating from the Wildcat at Rutgers, the Redskins defense moved up to defend Sanu running the ball. Sanu would then show of the arm that made him a star quarterback at SBHS, lofting a picture perfect 73-yard touchdown …

Sanu Impresses Bengals in Rookie Mini-Camp

South Brunswick High School graduate Mohamed Sanu was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of April's NFL Draft.

Former South Brunswick High School and Rutgers University star wide receiver Mohamed Sanu didn't waste any time making a good first impression on his new team. Sanu, drafted with the 83rd overall pick in last month's NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, drew rave reviews from teammates and coaches at the team's recent rookie mini-camp. “(Sanu) is already off to an impressive start, easily standing out at last weekend’s Bengals rookie minicamp, drawing both praise and a prediction of early contributions from head coach Marvin Lewis,” wrote Don Banks from Sports Illustrated. “Cincinnati has a decent history of rookie impact from receivers, getting that monster debut season from first-rounder A.J. Green last year (65 catches for 1,057 yards…
