Roller Derby, Block Party Highlight South Brunswick Weekend

On Oct. 11, South Brunswick's Jazz Café series of monthly Friday night concerts presents Paul Plumeri. One part technician, one part poet and one part guitar craftsman, Plumeri has been playing his own style of blues in and around Trenton and eastern Pennsylvania clubs for more than three decades.

This event will serve as the official, "hard" Grand Opening of the Sand Hills Community Wellness Center at 57 Sand Hills Rd. in Kendall Park. For further information, please visit:  www.feedingallwhohunger.com/block-party.html or call 732-297-9182. A number of the most popular instructors will give free demo classes throughout the afternoon. There will be a variety of activities suitable for kids as well. Members of the Wellness Board will give tours of the Wellness Center facilities rain or shine. Weather permitting, there will also be free live music outdoors and the youth group of the Community Presbyterian Church will provide food at a nominal cost. Also weather permitting, there will be outdoor field games for children and the children's playground will be open later in the afternoon. Fabulous Colors in the Fall Forest at Plainsboro Preserve, Plainsboro Preserve, 80 Scotts Corner Road, Cranbury, 3:30 p.m.

During this educational and eye-opening walk through the colorful woods of the preserve, you will learn about a variety of trees and their importance to the wildlife in the forest community.  Participants will connect with nature while learning the reasons for seasonal changes.

Kendall Park’s Hellrazors take on the Dolls of Destruction from Troy, PA, at the Kendall Park Roller.
