Halloween Parties Highlight South Brunswick Weekend Events

Halloween Spooktacular, free community kids Harvest Party and more this weekend in South Brunswick.

Saturday

South Brunswick Home Depot Annual Fire Safety Event, 4096 Route 1 South, Monmouth Junction, 10 a.m.

Stop by to meet and talk with your local Volunteer Emergency Response Team members. Free information on fire safety, learn how to select the right smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher to prepare your family in case of a fire.

Animals of Halloween at Plainsboro PreservePlainsboro Preserve, 80 Scotts Corner Road, Cranbury, 3:30 p.m.

Are bats, bugs, spiders, and snakes scratched off of your cute and cuddly list?  Come and learn about the life cycles, habits, and habitats of some of these amazing animals.  After you learn some interesting facts about these misunderstood animals, you can build your own crafty creature to take home. Cost for members is $3 per person; nonmembers $5 per person.

Rutgers Run for RAH, College Avenue, Rutgers New Brunswick, 9 a.m.

Join Rutgers alumni, family, friends and faculty and staff in the Rutgers–New Brunswick Homecoming Run for RAH. Rutgers Run for RAH, the university’s initiative toraise money and awareness to fight hunger, will be held onthe New Brunswick campus.

Community Harvest Kids Party, 2245 Route 139 Dayton NJ 08810 - Abundant Life Christian Center, 11:30 a.m.

A free, safe outdoor Harvest party for families including pony rides, a bounce inflatable house, petting zoo, pumpkin and face painting, and candy. On the grounds of Abundant Life Christian Center, across from the Department of Motor Vehicle. Call 732-355-0225 for more information.

Halloween Spooktacular, 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, noon-3 p.m.

The Spooktacular is free and open to all, and will feature Ambient DJ's providing the music, a bounce house by PlaytimeParty.com, two dance shows by Dance on Q and Artists in Motion, and a karate show by Family Karate Super Center.During the Spooktacular, kids can trick or treat in the safety of the indoor party with local businesses. There will be games, prizes and lots of candy, in addition to something for parents as well.

Sandy Recovery Project, 661 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, 1 p.m.

Everyone welcome to view and work at Miller Church's refurbished building to house Hurricane Sandy recovery volunteers.
