South Brunswick Independence Day Festival Tonight

Parking information and everything else you need to know for the annual Independence Day festival and fireworks.

South Brunswick’s second annual Independence Day Festival kicks off at 6:30 p.m., at Crossroads South Middle School, located on Major Road and Kingston Lane.  Between 5,000 and 7,000 people are expected to attend the event. Here is what you need to know about the festival.

You Need to Know Where to Park

South Brunswick Police are advising residents that there will be increased traffic in and around the celebration. The surrounding streets of Major Road, Kingston Lane and Georges Road will have increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Officers will be stationed in and around the event to assist with traffic issues. There will be no parking allowed on Major Road near the school. The greatest amount of traffic is anticipated between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled to go off around 9 p.m.

You Need to Know There Will be a lot of Food

The festival will provide numerous food options from vendors including several ice cream vendors, funnel cake, hot dogs, pizza, Asian barbecue, cheesecake and other dessert items.

as last year, with no magician or pony rides this year. However, a DJ will still be on hand to provide musical entertainment beginning at 6:30 p.m.
