South Brunswick Independence Day Festival Set for July 5

Fireworks, food and entertainment lined up for annual celebration.

While it won't be as large as the last few years, the annual South Brunswick Independence Day celebration will still bring fireworks to the township July 5.

Scaled back from the all day bonanza of attractions from the last few years, this year the festival will still offer plenty of activities.

"We're still going to have the fireworks, some food vendors and entertainment, but it won't be as elaborate as previous years," said Bonnie Bruccoleri, Recreation Supervisor for the township Parks and Recreation Department.

The festival will still offer food vendors, free entertainment, activites and music provided by a DJ. Between 5,000 and 7,000 people are expected to attend the event.

Residents are advised that there will be increased traffic in and around the celebration. The surrounding streets of Major Road, Kingston Lane and Georges Road will have increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Officers will be stationed in and around the event to assist with traffic issues.
