Those who must work outside are advised to do so in the early morning or evening hours, wear light weight and loose fitting clothing, drink plenty of water and be aware of the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion. It also advises scheduling frequent rest periods in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should move to a cooler location, and anyone suffering heat stroke should call 9-1-1.
