Vikings Go 7-0 to Win 10U Cranford Baseball Tournament

Vikings finish 2011 Cranford tournament scoring 70 runs while allowing only 27 runs

The South Brunswick Black U10 Baseball Team achieved yet another impressive feat in tournament play winning another championship this year. This achievement comes on the heels of having recently played in the 2011 Ripken High Heat Tournament in Aberdeen, Maryland. The Vikings are now back to back champions in the Cranford Baseball Tournament winning in 2010 and now 2011.

The boys played hard and went 5-0 not losing a game playing teams in North Edison, Cranford, Westfield, Clark and Edison. This entitled the boys to enter the semi-final round where they were to face Millburn, a very good team who recently were crowned district champions in their district. The boys played a tight game, earning a 3-0 victory and pitching a gem 1 hitter, advancing to the championships versus a well coached Clark team.

In the grand finale game, Clark jumped on first taking a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. But that was the only time Clark would keep the lead as the Vikings quickly responded with 2 runs to tie it up.
