The boys played hard in the South Brunswick Classic and went 3-1 beating some great teams in pool play, such as Full Count and two Montgomery teams.

This entitled the boys to enter the semi-final round, where they were to face the 11U Gold South Brunswick Vikings, a very good team who had some outstanding comebacks during the tournament.

The boys played a tight game and never gave up, winning 14-4 and advancing to the championship versus a well coached Montgomery team, who recently won the 11B 46-60 Ripken District Championship.

In the grand finale game, Montgomery jumped on the scoreboard first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top half of the inning.

Montgomery continued to get hits in the third inning, and opened the score 3-1 against the 10U Vikings. It wasn't until the 5th inning, when the Vikings put some good pressure on Montgomery and loaded the bases.

Hit by hit, the Vikings chipped away at the score and took the lead 5-3 going into the top of the 6th. Montgomery loaded the bases with two outs, but the Vikings were able to hold them off, to win the Championship by a score of 5-3.

"For a bunch of 10 year old kids to play as hard as they did against some great competition shows they are true champions," said manager Andrew Goldsmith. "I always told them throughout the winter during our practices, that not many 10-year-olds are practicing baseball like they did, and winning a tournament in our own town shows all the hard work pays off."

The Vikings continue their successful summer tournament season where they will be participating in the Hillsborough Last Chance Tournament.
