Vikings Football Faces Old Bridge Friday

The 2-0 South Brunswick High School football team stays home tonight for a showdown with Old Bridge at 7 p.m.

After winning a nail biter last week over Monroe Township, the South Brunswick High School football team will stay home Friday for a battle against Old Bridge.

After a dominating week one shutout of East Brunswick (34-0), the Vikings went down to the final play of last week’s game before triumphing over Monroe 35-32. South Brunswick jumped out to a 28-3 lead in the first half before Monroe was able to close the gap.

Down 35-32 in the final minute, Monroe passed up a field goal and elected to go for the win from the 5-yard line. Fortunately for South Brunswick, a quick turn and slip brought the Monroe runner to his knee and the Vikings fans to their feet.
