South Brunswick Youth Lacrosse Gearing up for Spring Season

The SBYL is a non-profit travel lacrosse program for boys and girls in grades 2-8.

It's been called the fastest growing sport in the country, and South Brunswick kids are starting to get in on the action.

The South Brunswick Youth Lacrosse League started about five years ago and has since grown in scope as the league is starting to become a feeder program for the middle school and high school lacrosse teams.

South Brunswick Youth Lacrosse is part of the Central New Jersey Lacrosse League, which is affiliated with U.S. Lacrosse, so the squads typically play teams from places like Toms River, North Brunswick, Lawrence and Montgomery.

The 2013 LAX season is almost here and the township is looking forward to an awesome season. Spring Registration is open for the upcoming 2013 Lacrosse season and will run until Feb. 24. The program will be fielding boys and girls teams in the following divisions:

  • Second/ Third/Fourth Grade Division
  • Fifth/Sixth Grade Division
  • Seventh/Eighth Grade Division

They also plan on participating in at least one lacrosse tournament.
