South Brunswick U-10 Baseball After More Titles

Team has already won Central Jersey Baseball League

The South Brunswick U-10 Black Vikings baseball team has already won the Central Jersey Baseball League. South Brunswick will now see what it can do about adding a few more titles before the baseball season comes to an end.

South Brunswick had wins against Montgomery, Milltown, Woodbridge, North Brunswick and South Plainfield as it finished the regular season 6-4 and earned a spot in the Central Jersey Baseball League playoffs. 

In the playoffs, South Brunswick opened with an 8-2 victory over Middlesex. South Brunswick then went up against a 10-0 Marlboro team in the championship game.

South Brunswick took care of the undefeated part of Marlboro's record. The team scored early -- and often-- and came away with a 7-2 win. 

“This was a great example of a team effort as all eleven kids contributed equally," South Brunswick Manager Andrew Goldsmith said. "This entire season the boys never gave up no matter what obstacles were put in their way."

The members of the South Brunswick team are Sean Goldsmith, William Beck, Marcus James, Ryan Wislock, Matthew Kirchheimer, Matthew Lauri, Jacob McIntyre, Dan O'Brien, Jacob Ciccone, Michael Nally and Mason Jenne. 

Andrew Goldsmith is the manager. Dave Ciccone, Andy Beck and Scott McIntyre  are the coaches. 

South Brunswick is currently playing in the Cranford Tournament and it won its first two games in that event. The team is also active in the districts and is 2-1.

South Brunswick also plans to travel to Maryland for the Cal Ripken High Heat Tournament.
