Browne and Julia Lekht were second in the long jump with a combined distance of 30' 10 1/2".

Baker, Johnson, O'Laughlin and Laura Calderone were second in the shuttle hurdles with a combined time of 1:08.49.

"Saturday was a rough day weather-wise, and many of the times and marks suffered due to the cold and the wind," South Brunswick Coach Stefan Moorhead said. "But like I told the girls, if you can beat your opponent in good weather, you should also be able to beat them in bad weather. Hopefully, they gained some valuable experience competing in adverse conditions. We're definitely looking forward to having better weather for our upcoming meets."

South Brunswick improved to 4-0 by sweeping a tri-meet against Sayreville (87-53) and New Brunswick (134-5) on Apr. 14.

Amber Brown won both the shot put (34' 8") and discus (105' 2") against both teams.

Rachel Johnson and Jen O'Laughlin tied for first in the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.7. Lindsay Carbone (9' 6" in the pole vault), Mariah Browne (17' 4 1/2" in the long jump), Joy Spriggs (2:32.8 in the 800) and Emily Lane (12:59 in the 3200) had wins against both teams.

"We did fairly well against New Brunswick and Sayreville, but I was a little disappointed with the overall performance," Moorhead said. "We will need to be sharper and more competitive across the board when we face better teams in the coming weeks."

South Brunswick will compete in the Old Bridge Invitational on Apr. 23.
