South Brunswick Girls' Basketball Team Opens Season With Big Win Over Woodbridge
The wrestling team went 1-2 in their opening weekend tri-meet.
The South Brunswick High School girls’ basketball team opened the season with a 58-28 win over Woodbridge on Friday night, according to nj.com.
Amber Brown led South Brunswick with 13 points, five rebounds an assist and three steals. Jackie Siva-Harrison had 10 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot.
Brielle Bannister and Brianna Valdes each had eight points for Woodbridge.

Boys' basketball
Jason Saldiveri had 10 points, and Corey Lumpkin had nine points, including a pair of three-pointers.
South Brunswick's home opener is Jan. 4 against Old Bridge.
Wrestling
The wrestling team opened the season by going 1-2 in a tri-meet against Lawrence, Iselin Kennedy and Hillsborough, according to box scores posted on nj.com.

The Vikings’ lone win came against Iselin Kennedy, 41-38. They fell to Lawrence, 39-30, and Hillsborough, 55-18.
At 195 pounds, Maxwell Rhoden scored a technical fall against Iselin Kennedy’s Carlos Martinez. He walked away with a 16-0 win after five minutes, 41 seconds.
Against Iselin Kennedy, South Brunswick scored three pinfall victories.
At 120 pounds, Jake Daniel scored a technical fall against Hillsborough’s Kevin Gallego. He won, 15-0, after 4:56 of action.
At heavyweight, Gordon Thompson pinned Christian Cardosa after 52 seconds of action. He also pinned Hillsborough’s Brian Schemm 1:17 into their match.
Michael Klimkiewicz pinned Adem Djonovic at 113 1:35 into the match. He also pinned Lawrence’s Milosz Kazimicowicz in 43 seconds in their match. He finished the day with a 3-0 record when he scored a 10-1 major decision win over Hillsborough’s Brett Magliaro.
Jon DiBartolo pinned Stiven Skender at 138 1:38 into the match. Against Lawrence, DiBartolo scored a 6-0 decision over Uriel Acevedo.
Tyler Schwarz came away from the day with two wins, including a 10-4 win over Lawrence’s Omar Mehmood and an 8-5 win over Hillsborough’s Anthony Delguercio.
