South Brunswick Dance Team Dominates at Battle of the Northeast

Varsity, Junior Varsity teams claim first place in jazz and pom

The South Brunswick High School Dance Team dominated at the UDA (Universal Dance Association) Battle of the Northeast on Sunday, claiming first place in every area they competed in. 

The competition, which was hosted at the , attracted nearly twenty high schools from across the northeast in addition to local university teams, such as the Rutgers University Dance Team.

The South Brunswick varsity and junior varsity teams claimed first place in pom and jazz, and had soloists place in the top three for both the senior and junior divisions.

In the senior division, senior Cassie Yeung placed first, junior Christina Trautwein placed second and junior Samantha Weresczak placed third. 

In the junior division, Heather Briody placed first, Starr Vega placed second and Zoe Finkelstein placed third. All three girls are freshmen on the varsity team.
