SBHS Alums Hit the Diamond For Sandy Victims

More than 30 former Vikings turn out for baseball team alumni game at Rowland Park.

Former Vikings came out in full force last weekend for a great cause.

The first annual South Brunswick High School Baseball Alumni Softball Game at Rowland Park brought out former ball players to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy and to benefit the South Brunswick Diamond Club.

Over 30 total alumni comprised three teams of former SBHS baseball players coached by the current SBHS coaching staff, including Head Coach Tim Sweeney, and Assistant Coaches Dan Olsson, Chris Hayston and CJ Hendricks. The South  Diamond Club, along with the SBAA hosted and organized the event.

Sponsors included South Brunswick Police Lodge 51, South Brunswick P.B.A. Local 166, South Brunswick American Legion Post 401, Amato's Garden Center, Pierre's of South Brunswick, Paula Sjolund DO LLC, Dr. Larry Brent DDS, Orange Key Realty, Cappriccio Pizza, Deans Garage, and Pizza Delizia.
