SB Vikings 9U-A Team Wins Memorial Day Tournament

Vikings give up only five runs in five games on their path to the championship.

The South Brunswick Vikings 9U-A team recently won the Marlboro Memorial Day Baseball Tournament by beating last year's Northern New Jersey Champions, the Manalapan Braves, along the way while giving up only five runs in five games.

During the first game last Friday night, the Vikings beat the Freehold Fury by a score of 20-0. On Saturday, the Vikings kept on rolling by shutting out the Brooklyn Bulldogs Orange by a score of 10-0.

Both games lasted only 4 innings because of the mercy rule. The Vikings lost a nail biter to the Marlboro Mustangs Gold team by a score of 1-0 on Sunday, allowing their first run of the tournament in the bottom of the 6th inning.
