Run with the Vikings 5K on Sunday

The Viking Athletic Club of South Brunswick High School will be hosting the 7th annual Run with the Vikings 5K and One Mile Fun Run on Sunday, Nov. 6 at SBHS. The money raised is used to give out scholarships to student athletes based on need or academics.

The one mile run starts at 9:30 a.m. and the USATF certified 5k starts at 10 a.m., Both runs cost $25 to register. T-shirts and goody bags will be given to registered runners as they last.

There is also the Mascot Kiddie dash at 11 a.m. for children under 8-years-old. Mascots Sparkee from the Somerset Patriots, the Viking, the Road Runner Sports shoe dog, and the Fitness 19 mascot will all be participating. 

Registration on race day starts at 7:30 a.m. There are also race sign ups at Road Runner Sports at the Shoppes in North Brunswick today (Friday Nov. 4) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will also be a raffle for a 32" TV courtesy of Best Buy and a Home Theater system donated by Panasonic Toughbooks. Food and refreshments afterwards courtesy of Wawa, High Grade Beverage and Johanna Foods. Awards and trophies will go to age group winners in 5-year increments. There will also be an award for the fastest South Brunswick resident and the fittest family that is made up of three or more members.
