The top six finishers in each event at the group meets automatically advance to The Meet of Champions. The top non-medal winners from all the groups also had the chance to advance as wild cards, based on their performance.

"The team was fortunate to earn wildcards into the Meet of Champions in the long jump for Jonathan Pitt, and the 4x400 team of Jose Baxter, Kaseem Davis, Matt Tamasi and Tre Tisdale," Rivera said.

Pitt placed seventh in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet, an inch away from sixth place and teammate Jaleel Alston.

The 4x400 team of Baxter, Davis, Tamasi and Tisdale placed ninth, but advanced because of its 3:22.73 time.

South Brunswick had nine athletes qualify to compete in the Group IV finals. Included in this group were Adam Dickert and Victor Battagliotti, who both competed in the discus and shot put.

Dickert had a distance of 49 feet in the shot put. He threw the discus 139' 3".
