NWS Pro Wrestling is Coming to South Brunswick

Seven former TV wrestling stars to headline S.B.P.A.L fundraiser show.

Lace up your boots, and create your fan signs because, thanks to the South Brunswick Police Athletic League, stars of the National Wrestling Superstars promotion, including 7 former WWE/ECW wrestlers, will be performing in the South Brunswick High School on May 21.

“The board members of the P.A.L have been thinking about holding not only a fundraiser but also some kind of community event for a while,” said event planner Martin Castimore Jr. “We came to a collective decision as a group to try and hold an inexpensive event, this is also an event the kids are really interested in.”

Castimore is no stranger to sports entertainment, as he grew up watching the WWF.

“When I was younger I watched the sport, that is what young boys growing up get into,” he said.

As he got older, Castimore grew out of the phase, but recognizes the sacrafices the talent make in order to put on a show.

“I do appreciate the athleticism of the wrestlers," he said.  "They put on a great show.”

The S.B.P.A.L is joining up with perhaps New Jersey’s biggest wrestling promotion, the NWS.

The NWS is an independent wrestling company that tours all over New Jersey and the east coast.

“I have not ever worked with the NWS before, but they did get great reviews from other groups that have worked with them,” said Castimore.

The NWS will be bringing a roster stock piled with talent including recent WWE Hall Of Fame inductee “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Nikolai Volkoff,  “The Master Of The Stinkface” Rikishi, Snitsky, Kenny Dykstra, “Dastardly” Danny Doring, and The Famous TV Clown.  This star studded cast is sure to produce a big crowd.

“I am hoping to see 800 to 1,500 people at our event,” said Castimore. “Somewhere in New Jersey there is always a show, so I would have to think this area of the country is a big supporter of professional wrestling.”

The S.B.P.A.L has been around for roughly 20 years and is one of the main contributing programs to the youth sports in the area.

“The South Brunswick P.A.L in my opinion is a top notch youth organization [that] cares about the kids first,” he said.  “We provide instruction and competition in Pop Warner football, flag football, cheer-leading, basketball, and last but definitely not least, wrestling."

P.A.L  members are hoping that through a successful fundraiser on May 21, they can help to reduce or even eliminate the cost of sports programs going on in the middle and high school level.

“The schools went to pay for play at the middle school and high school levels, [so] we help defer some of the cost," Castimore said. "We believe that every child should be able to participate in youth sports if the family can or cannot afford it."

The show is scheduled to start at 7:35 p.m., tickets are $25 for a ringside reserved seat and $18 for a bleacher seat. by calling Martin Castimore at 732-266-1802 or going to http://sbpalstore.com/
