Jr. Pee Wee Vikings Advance in State Playoffs

South Brunswick moves on to a showdown of undefeated squads against Sayreville on Sunday.

After a resounding win last weekend in the state Pop Warner playoffs, South Brunswick's Jr. Pee Wee Vikings will face their biggest test of the season this weekend against a dominating Sayreville squad.

The Vikings improved their record to 8-0 last Sunday with a 25-13 win over South River in the first round of the playoffs. The squad, comprised of kids 8-years-old to 11-years-old, needs to win at least two playoff games to be one of two teams from the region to advance to the Pop Warner Garden State Playoffs against teams from around New Jersey.

The game on Sunday will present the JPW with their toughest challenge to date. Sayreville is also undefeated and has yet to give up a single point this season.

Action will kickoff at 11 a.m. at Sayreville High School, located at 820 Washington Road in Parlin. Come out and support the Jr. Pee Wee Vikings as they look to advance in the playoffs.

The Jr. Pee Wee Vikings:

Jason Briggs, Grant Holmes, PJ Schneider, Matt Castimore, Kyle Gruver, Matt Marich, Chris Corsilli, Katibu Martin, Max Jasper, Matthew D'Angillilo, Michael Damato, Matthew Harrison, Najir Underwood, Seth Gleason, Mason Shipp, Chris Oakes, Nick Campigotto, Nick Jairdullo, Justin Cooper, Tanner Carneglia, Max Lacorte, Fred Offenberger, and Taji Ahi.

Coaches:

Don Parlow, Jake Rodriguez, Glenn Miller, John Elko, Sean D'Angillilo, Darren Oakes and Mike Muha.

Shocking that someone from such a fine town as sayerville would come on to a web site and talk trash about a 9-11 year olds football game. Actually it really isn't that shocking, I guess he got done from his job picking up dead animals off the side of the road, shot to the local library to score some free internet access and said to himself "what can make me feel like a big man today". I know, lets talk smack about that the only thing that is good I have good in life.....The team my brothers kid plays for.

I think our Jr. Pee Wee Vikings team did a great job in todays game against Sayreville considering we played which should be a Pee Wee team since more then half the team are all 11 year olds. Way to go Vikings!!!!!!

The SBPAL Jr. Pee Wee football players and coaching staff should be very proud of how they played on Sunday and throughout this challenging season. More importantly, they should be very proud of their dedication to the sport, toughness, persistence, integrity and model sportsmanship-like behavior.
