Drost Walkoff Home Run Powers Vikings

South Brunswick High School baseball team improves to 5-1.

After just one inning on Tuesday, the South Brunswick High School baseball team found themselves in a 7-0 hole to Piscataway.

But the Vikings would chip away scoring four runs the final inning, as senior Ken Drost crushed a walk-off home run for his second hit of the game, to give the Vikings a dramatic 8-7 victory. Austin Morse supplied most of the offense for SBHS, collecting five RBI on two hits.

Nick Veglia added two hits, while Chris Huber had three runs scored.

On Wednesday, the Vikings would provide no such drama in the rematch. SBHS crushed Piscataway by a score of 9-0. T.J. Perkowski collected two hits, two RBI and two runs scored, along with a stolen base. 

Morse had another huge game with a grand slam as part of a 9-run first inning.
