South Brunswick Student Wins Post 401 Safety Essay Contest

Eighth-grader Soorya Suresh wins contest two years in a row.

The American Legion Post 401 Safety Essay Contest was won by Soorya Suresh, an 8th Grade student at Crossroads North Middle School in South Brunswick.

This marks the second year in a row Suresh has won the contest. She also placed second in the Middlesex County competition.

“Soorya’s essay was thought provoking because it discussed an issue today’s children face that I never had to deal with at her age: cyberbulling,” said Gary Cooper, post commander, who presented the award.
