To achieve this honor, a student must carry 12 or more credits that semester and have a 3.5 grade point average or above.
The University of Scranton
The University of Scranton has announced it's Dean's List, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2012 spring semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List. The list includes students from the Jesuit university's College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, the Panuska College of Professional Studies and the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. More than 1,470 students were named to the 2012 spring semester Dean's List, including the following area residents.
Heather De Bari of Monmouth Junction is a senior exercise science major in Scranton's Panuska College of Professional Studies
Brian Luck of Monmouth Junction is a freshman criminal justice major in Scranton's College of Arts and Sciences
Jessica Talarick of Kendall Park is a senior communication major in Scranton's College of Arts and Sciences
James Madison University
Dayton resident, Mary-Louise Kidaha, graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance from James Madison University during the May 2012 commencement exercises.
Fairleigh Dickinson University
Tatiana Gass of Kendall Park, NJ, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan Campus, located in Teaneck, NJ, has been inducted to FDU's Phi Omega Epsilon, senior honor society for the Spring 2012 semester. To qualify for Phi Omega Epsilon, a student must have completed 90.0 credits toward an undergraduate degree, and of these credits, 58.0 must have been earned at FDU and a cumulative grade point ratio of 3.2 must have been maintained for all of them.

The following area residents were named to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester at Quinnipiac University:

To qualify for the dean's list, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits, including 12 that have been graded A through C in a semester. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester to be eligible.
Delaware Valley College
Dr. Bashar Hanna, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Delaware Valley College, announced that Sarah Shearer of Monmouth Junction, NJ, is among the college's May list of graduates. Delaware Valley College is a multi-disciplinary institution in Doylestown, Pa. that offers both undergraduate and graduate programs.
