SBHS Forming Robotics Team

South Brunswick High School developing an extracurricular robotics program for 2013.

Have you ever considered what it might take to land an unmanned vehicle on Mars?

As challenging as this task may seem, the actual activities associated with this effort can be experienced at the high school level. While building a robot may sound very much like it may only be for certain types of individuals with specific technical abilities, the truth is that the real success stories come from a wide variety of talents and a broad base of interested people working toward achieving a particular goal.

The South Brunswick School District is proud to announce that they are developing an extracurricular robotics program at South Brunswick High School this school year. Students are invited to the start-up meeting on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. in the faculty dining room.

At this meeting they will discuss the steps needed to form a team for the 2013 season (January – April 2013), what you can expect by being a member of the SBHS FIRST Robotics team, what a typical game looks like, the “season," the skills you will learn to build a robot, and how you would compete as a rookie team.
