Run with the Vikings 5K is Coming

Viking Athletic Club of South Brunswick High School will be hosting the 8th annual Run with the Vikings 5K and One Mile Fun Run on Nov. 4.

The Viking Athletic Club of South Brunswick High School will be hosting the 8th annual Run with the Vikings 5K and One Mile Fun Run on Sunday, Nov. 4.

Both races start and finish at South Brunswick High School. The course is flat, fast and winds through the scenic streets of Monmouth Junction. The one-mile run starts at 9:30 a.m. and the USATF certified 5K starts at 10 a.m.

Both runs cost $20 to register prior to race day. T-shirts and goody bags to registered runners as they last. There is also the Mascot Kiddie dash at 11 a.m. for children under the age of 8. The mascots participating will be Sparkee from the Somerset Patriots and the South Brunswick Viking. The athletic club is still looking for local mascots to run with the kids.

Each 5K and one-mile runner is entered into a raffle which includes a sound system, DVD player (both courtesy of Panasonic Toughbooks), a Bunker Hill Golf foursome, television from Best Buy and gift certificates from local restaurants.

Registration on race day starts at 7:30 a,.m. They are also having packet pick-up at Road Runner Sports at the Shoppes in North Brunswick on Friday, Nov. 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can also register at the store that night.
