Wednesday Wisdom: Documentary Film Series

For the third Wednesday of every month Wednesday Wisdom series, we are going to be showing some top rated documentary films - either stand alone or in series. Today, the final episode of the documentary originally aired on the History Channel and A&E titled "The 20th Century with Mike Wallace: Politics and Presidents" will be shown. This episode is "Washington Scandals: Sex, Money, Power." Throughout the ‘50s and ‘60s, the press confined its reporting to financial improprieties and influence peddling. But in the ‘70s, a bizarre incident involving a powerful congressman and a stripper flung open the door to politicians’ sex life, and an FBI sting revealed the extent of corruption in Congress. In April and May we will show two documentaries featuring renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly. Future documentary films in this series during the rest of the year might be - David Attenborough's "Nature's Most Amazing Events" or National Geographics "How the Earth Changed History." We will review a list of the 100s of documentary films in the LMxAC collection or available online and make a collective decision about which we wnat to view. Come see some great films on the large screen at the library.  Location: Meeting Room A/B
