Donate Used Cleats to South Brunswick Athletes

The South Brunswick Education Association will be collecting sports cleats at the South Brunswick High School football playoff game on Friday night.

Residents of South Brunswick are asked to donate used sports cleats to help local families defray the cost of their children's athletic endeavors in town.

The South Brunswick Education Association’s PRIDE committee will be collecting sports cleats of all different types and sizes at the South Brunswick High School football playoff game on Friday night.  There will also be a collection at SBHS and Crossroads North Middle School on Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Student volunteers will then clean the cleats and deodorize them.  On March 10, community members may select one pair of cleats per child for use during the spring sports season.

The cleats will be cleaned and sorted by sport and size. For example, there could be a table with football cleats in sizes 10 to 13.

On entry to the cleat selection, parents will get one ticket per child, enabling them to get one pair of cleats per child.  Cleats left over at the end of the day will go to Soccer Dreams without Borders, as well as the recreation departments at local low-income areas like New Brunswick and Trenton.
