Sign up now for a day of fun to support the Constable Elementary School PTO.

The Constable Elementary School PTO will be continuing to develop a new Thanksgiving tradition in Kendall Park, with the upcoming second annual "Turkey Trot."

The 5K run will include a trek through the surrounding neighborhoods of Constable, including Kingsley Park and Highgate Manor.

"The race raises money for all of our PTO programs, and goes towards subsidizing field trips, school musicals, and classroom technology," said Constable PTO Co-President Dana Miller. "Basically anywhere we feel money needs to go in the school."

Miller said about 120 people partcipated in last year's Trot. The PTO is hoping for 150 people to participate in this year's race, which will feature prizes for the fastest man, woman, and student, including a free Thanksgiving turkey from Stop & Shop.

"It was so much fun last year when we did this with mostly students and parents," Miller said. "It's nice to be outside in the cool autumn morning, and eveybody had so much fun getting exercise, which we can all use the weekend before Thanksgiving. Everybody who was involved is looking forward to doing it again."
