Local Residents Nominated to Superior Court

Timothy Lydon and Marcia Silva were nominated to Superior Court in Middlesex County.

Four Middlesex County judges, including two from East Brunswick, were among Gov. Chris Christie’s Superior Court judge nominees on Wednesday morning.

Timothy P. Lydon and Marcia L. Silva were the two East Brunswick nominees Michael V. Cresitello, of Middlesex Borough, and Bruce J. Kaplan, of Highland Park, were the others. Christie nominated a total of nine judges to Superior Court in five different counties.

All nominations were approved by the State Senate on Monday.

Lydon served as the Senate Majority Office’s Executive Director for the last four years, and has served several governmental roles since 2002, according to nj.com. His former positions include chief of staff for former U.S Rep. John Adler and Director of Cabinet Affairs to former Gov. Jon Corzine.

Silva is a former Middlesex County assistant prosecutor. Her husband, David Stahl, is the former Democratic mayor of East Brunswick who ran for State Senate as a Republican in 2013, according to politickernj.com.
