NJ Turnpike Authority to Open New Exit 8 Toll Plaza

All traffic will head through the new toll plaza beginning Saturday, Jan. 25.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has informed East Windsor Township Mayor Janice S. Mironov that the new 10-lane East Windsor interchange 8 toll plaza will be fully open on Saturday, Jan. 26.

The relocation and opening of the new Interchange 8 toll plaza will be done in phases which began on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at midnight and will conclude on Saturday, Jan. 26 in the early morning. Signage will be erected throughout the area to assist motorists during the conversion.

Starting Friday, Jan. 25, all traffic entering East Windsor through exit 8 will access the new toll plaza. The current interchange plaza, and all ramps leading up to it, will be completely closed beginning Friday and signs will be directing vehicles to the newly opened toll plaza.

Access to the new East Windsor interchange 8 toll plaza has been relocated to the east side of the Turnpike via ramps in the vicinity of the Route 33/Route 133 intersection. Recently installed traffic signals will enable vehicles to and from Route 33 and Route 133 to safely access and exit the New Jersey Turnpike. Completion of the new bridge linking the New Jersey Turnpike access and Route 133 is scheduled for late spring.

Early morning northbound traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike will exit at the new toll plaza starting on Wednesday, Jan. 23. All Turnpike traffic will exit at the new toll plaza as of Saturday, Jan. 26. The new toll plaza and all related accesses will then be fully open and functioning and will have replaced the existing Interchange 8 plaza and access.
