Friendship Road Bridge Reopened

Work has been completed to repair the damage caused by Hurricane Irene.

It took nearly seven months, but the Friendship Road bridge has finally been reopened. The township announced Monday that repairs to the roadway between New Road and Broadway Road has been completed.

The small bridge suffered last year and was impassable due to a gaping hole. Work to repair the bridge was performed by Middlesex County, and included guide rail installation, topcoat paving, striping and minor landscaping work.

Work began to fix the damage began during the third week of December, with this month targeted for the reopening.
