Election Day in South Brunswick: What You Need to Know

Candidates and poll locations for today's election.

Voters will head to the polls today to cast their ballots in the mid-term legislative election. This marks the first election following the which moved South Brunswick from the 14th District and Princeton Township and Borough from the 15th to a newly configured 16th, with towns from Somerset and Hunterdon counties.  

The 16th now includes 15 municipalities in four counties, with South Brunswick (43,417) and Hillsborough in Somerset County (38,303) the most populous towns in the district.  Also included are the Princetons in Mercer, Branchburg, Manville, Millstone, Montgomery, Rocky Hill and Somerville in Somerset County and Delaware, Flemington, Raritan, Readington and Stockton in Hunterdon.

Voters will decide a senate seat and two assembly seats, in addition to county freeholder.

Republican South Brunswick Councilman John O'Sullivan is seeking a three-year term as Middlesex County Freeholder, along with GOP running mate Avi Duvdevani. Opposing the Republican challengers are incumbent Democrats Carol Barrett, the former Deputy Mayor of South Brunswick, and Charles Tomaro. 

In the race for the 16th District's senate seat, incumbent Republican Sen. Christopher "Kip" Bateman will be challenged by Democrat Maureen Vella.

In the race for two open assembly seats, Republican incumbent Peter Biondi and running mate Jack Ciattarelli will be challenged by Democratic South Brunswick Councilman Joseph Camarota and Marie Corfield.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in South Brunswick (see below for poll locations).
