District 16 Assemblyman Peter Biondi Reveals He Has Cancer
Biondi says the cancer is in remission and he has no intention of retiring.
Peter Biondi, the Republican incumbent for 16th Legislative District in the State Assembly, told the Courier News this week that he's been battling cancer for two years.
Biondi, 69, said he has non-hodgkin lymphoma, but it is in remission, he told the newspaper.
He revealed his illness this week for the first time after Democrats began challenging his missed votes, totalling 265 missed votes over six sessions this year and 231 missed votes over five sessions last year, the newspaper reported.
