UPDATE: Police Looking for Public's Help to Identify Woman Killed by Train in Monmouth Junction

Victim was identified as a female between the ages of 40 and 60-years-old. No missing persons reports have been filed yet.

South Brunswick Police are seeking help from the public to identify the woman who was killed by a train in Monmouth Junction on Friday evening.  Police released a photo of the ring worn by the victim at the time she was killed in hopes someone will recognize it.

The South Brunswick Police Department, in conjunction with the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office and Amtrak Police, said the victim is a Caucasian female in the age range of her mid-forties up to about to 60-years-old.

Police said the victim has shoulder length brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a Polo Ralph Lauren sweatsuit and Merrell shoes size 8.5. Police said she had the unique ring on her right ring finger at the time of her death (see photo).

At 7:34 p.m. Friday, police responded to the Northeast Corridor rail lines that run by New Road after receiving the call reporting a person had been hit by a train.  South Brunswick Police and Amtrak Police responded to the scene to determine what occurred.  Police said the victim had no identification on her.

"We were hoping to get her identified but we're still investigating," said police spokesman Sgt. James Ryan.  "As of yet we have not received any missing persons reports."

Police are not ready to release any details concerning what transpired as they work to positively identify the victim.  All trains between New Brunswick and Princeton Junction were shut down until about 8:30 p.m. after the incident Friday evening.
