Two Men Seriously Injured in Industrial Accidents Saturday

Two separate accidents at South Brunswick warehouses send two workers to the hospital.

Two men were seriously injured in separate industrial accidents Saturday morning in South Brunswick.

At 8 a.m., a 46-year-old Willingboro man was hurt when he was pinned between a lift truck he had been working on at the Wakefern warehouse on Davidson Mill Road. 

The victim was transported by the Monmouth Junction First Aid and Rescue Squad to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

A second warehouse worker suffered severe chemical burns in an accident at the IFF facility on Docks Corner Road. At 11:15 a.m., a 29-year-old Toms River man was working on a chemical mixture when it exploded. The victim suffered first and second degree burns over 25 percent of his body.

The victim was transported by New Jersey State Police helicopter to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. The Monmouth Junction Fire Department, Monmouth Junction First Aid and paramedics responded to the scene.

Both incidents are being investigated by South Brunswick Police and OSHA.
