Three People Charged in Alleged Heroin Distribution Ring

South Brunswick Police arrest three suspects after finding 162 decks of heroin, one gram of cocaine, under 50 grams of marijuana, and 48 syringes in a Route 1 hotel room.

One South Brunswick resident, and two North Brunswick residents, are facing drug charges after South Brunswick Police busted an alleged heroin distribution ring at a Route 1 motel Thursday evening.

Evan Simpson, 24, of North Brunswick, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Holly Hester, 22, of South Brunswick, and Anthony Ruvolo, 25, of North Brunswick, were both charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Det. Kenneth Herman and Officer Gagan Chopra were investigating a report of a stolen wallet from a pizza delivery man at the Hotel Vincenza, located at 3793 Route 1.

While speaking with the three occupants of a hotel room, Herman and Gagan observed syringes and drug paraphernalia inside the room, according to police.

During a search of the room, police uncovered 162 decks of heroin, one gram of cocaine, under 50 grams of marijuana, and 48 syringes. Officers also seized $1,582 in cash and some jewelry from the room, according to police. 

Simpson was lodged in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in lieu of $75,000 bail. Hester and Ruvolo were released on a summons.
