South Brunswick Police Launch Online Crime Reporting

COPLOGIC program allows people to avoid going to the police station or waiting for an officer to file a non-emergency crime report.

The South Brunswick Police Department has launched an online reporting service that enables the members of the community to complete an online form to report nonviolent and “cold” complaints or crimes.

The COPLOGIC program will allow residents and visitors to avoid going to the police station or waiting for an officer to file a non-emergency crime report. Users can log into the Township's home page at http://www.twp.south-brunswick.nj.us and select “Police Department” from the list of departments and then scroll down to click on the “On Line Reports” link.

Users will be asked a very short series of questions to determine if what they are reporting can be accepted through the online reporting service. Reports that can be accepted include harassing phone call, identity theft or fraud, lost property, theft, theft from vehicle and vandalism.

It’s intended to free up officers and reduce costs related to crimes where there is little solvability. After a resident files a report, a supervisor will review it. The supervisor may contact the reporting person if additional questions arise. The program came on-line three weeks ago and has already received 17 reports.

The South Brunswick Township Police Department prides itself in their service to the public, but also expects this program to relieve pressure on the dispatchers and officers while continuing to provide a high level of full-service policing to our community.

To report non-emergency criminal activity that does not fit the criteria for online reporting, call the South Brunswick Police Department at 732 329-4646.
