South Brunswick Police: Drug Take-Back Day Successful

Written by South Brunswick police:

It was another record-setting day for the South Brunswick Police Department, which took back 201 pounds of medications during this past Saturday's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

The event aimed to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of unused, out of date, and no longer needed prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medication.

Residents came into police headquarters from 10am to 2pm and turned in prescription medication that needed to be destroyed.

Chief Raymond Hayducka thanked all the members of the community who made the event a success.  “This event is successful each year because of our partners in the South Brunswick Health Department, South Brunswick Senior Center, as well as the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and DEA.  I thank all the residents who took the time to keep the medications off the streets and out of our water supply,” said Chief Hayducka.
