South Brunswick July 4th Festivities Will Go On, As Scheduled

Clearing conditions were expected Friday afternoon, which would allow for the fireworks show to go on as planned at 9:15 p.m.

The current weather forecast called for scattered rain in the South Brunswick area until 2 p.m. Friday, so the show was to go on.

Clearing conditions were expected Friday afternoon, allowing for the fireworks show to go on as planned at 9:15 p.m.  Residents were encouraged to bring chairs or tarps to sit on.

Food vendors, entertainment, music & activities planned start at 5 p.m.

The fireworks were great! Now if they would just bring back the parade and party at Richler Park afterwards the whole day would be awesome!

Unfortunately the parade and party will never come back again. It was strictly run by the fire department and not the town, it cost alot of money and time of the already over worked volunteers. The only way it was feasible back in the day was the placement of a beer truck and selling of mugs, however with the political correct society we live in now that will not happen anytime soon.

I still have mugs from the beer truck. Wasn't old enough to drink......but was still a good time.......
