UPDATE: Burlington County Teen Killed in Friendship Road Crash

Police said victim was not wearing a seatbelt when he was ejected from the vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that a teenager from Burlington County was killed late this afternoon in a single vehicle crash on Friendship Road.

At 3:20 p.m., the 18-year-old male victim was traveling in the direction of Broadway Road near the Friendship Road bridge when he lost control of the vehicle and was ejected, according to police.

The Middlesex County Medical Examiner, Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office and South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau are currently at the scene investigating the crash.

The roadway remains closed.

A motor vehicle accident has closed Friendship Road between Broadway Road and New Road.

No details on the crash were immediately available, but police said the accident is very serious. The road is expected to remain closed for the next few hours as the Traffic Bureau is on scene investigating the crash.
