Sayreville Woman Dies in Accident Tuesday Evening

The 47-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating an accident that took the life of a 47-year-old Sayreville woman at 10:50 p.m., Tuesday near the South Brunswick border.

Police from East Brunswick and South Brunswick, units from the Monmouth Junction Fire Department and Monmouth Junction Rescue Squad from South Brunswick and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Paramedics responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on the southbound side of Cranbury Road just before the intersection of Davidson Mill Road.

According to police, Jane Karuga, 47, of Sayreville, was driving a 1997 Nissan Sentra when she allegedly crossed the double yellow lines into the northbound lane, where she collided with a 2001 Dodge Ram, being driven by Warren J. Himich, 57, of Bethel Park, Pa. Karuga’s vehicle hit Himich’s vehicle head on and she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Himich was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are currently being investigated.  If anyone was a witness to the collision of has any information regarding the collision are asked to contact Patrolman James Angermeier or Patrolman Thomas Kienle of the East Brunswick Police Department’s Special Operations Section at 732-390-6969.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to Jane's family and friends. And to the people name calling shame on you all you are heartless people. You should be sending your prayers and thoughts to Jane's family and friends. You should not Judge her you were not there you don't know the circumstances.

AJ Rednose doesn't deserve our attention because he has clearly proved that he is IGNORANT! My heartfelt condolence to Jane's family. Anything could have happened.. Mechanical problem with the car or maybe medical condition. Only God knows. may she RIP.

Jane was a very spiritual and faithful child of God of whom has called her to eternal life, and of whom will continue to guide and protect her two girls and provide amazing strength and guidance to her husband as he and the girls continues on with the journey. Dan, I agree with you. I've found myself in the left turn lane of oncoming traffic driving that stretch of Cranbury Road. Happened only once, at night, and I was lucky nobody was in that lane. I know of two people from Spotswood who've lost their lives on Cranbury Road.
