Rainfall has flooded over Route 1 between Raymond Road and Ridge Road

Today's heavy rainfall has caused significant flooding problems on Route 1 between Raymond Road and Ridge Road this evening, which has left the roadway nearly impassable, according to South Brunswick Police.

"Right at Raymond Road on Route One only one lane of traffic is getting by," said South Brunswick Police spokesman Sgt. Jim Ryan.

The rainfall has also completely flooded over Route 1 at the Ridge Road intersection, and drivers are unable to exit Route 1 onto Ridge Road as of 8:30 p.m., Sgt. Ryan said.
